Sylvia,
I have already had succes doing a lookup, but
could you please explain what you mean by
"option of listing the household before and after
the current one!"

I can't understand what option this is.

Varda - It is a good idea - once in a while - to review
the JewishGen guidelines for postings:

http://www.jewishgen.org/JewishGen/DiscussionGroup.htm

<< IV. How to Post Messages to the Entire Group

<< SUBJECT LINE
Provide a clear and descriptive Subject line. (Think of
the message subject line as a headline capturing the central
point of the message you are sending.) If for example you
are asking a question about the 1910 Federal Census, it makes
no sense to write a general subject line such as: "Need census
information"; you need to be much more specific and can still
keep it short by saying "Need 1910 Census Info", for example. >>

Of course - you are free to write whatever you wish, but if
we all didn't follow the guidelines - there would be more
deletions than readings. And there wouldn't be a need for
Moderators! << grin >>

Advice about payment for information... #general

Daniel Gee <DanielGee@...>

Dear Genners,
A former USSR country's archive office has requested payment
for copies of certificates. I am pretty sure the letter is
genuine and it instructs me to make my payment in USD. The
problem is that I am in England (where we use the pound
sterling) and it is hugely expensive to get a cheque made up
in dollars. Can any British Genners advise me of the easiest/
cheapest way to make a payment in USD. I am admitting my
ignorance as I hope someone will take pity on me!

Thank you in advance,
Daniel Gleek in London.
