Re Levy MATTHIAS or Herrmann HEYMANN
#general
Pam G <pgosl@...>
Hello,
This is a longshot but wondering if anyone on this list is connected to either of the names above, or has any knowledge of these people from Hamburg. They signed my g-grandmother's marriage certificate in the 1880's as witnesses (bride's name was Adele Auguste Judell who married Louis Leffmann). Any information about either this particular HEYMANN or MATTHIAS family would help me to uncover some mysteries surrounding my family. The address on the certificate is handwritten, difficult to decipher, possibly Loghienstrasse 34(?). Thanks so much for any possible leads. Please respond privately. Schmeil Mutria b. 1884, went to England, took the surname SIEGEL, and may have been known as "Harry" SIEGEL in England. Some family members said that he had 5 children, two of whom might have been named Annie and Harry, others say he never married. He may have been a comedian, may have lived in Leeds.
