Busko-Zdroj Records #general

Nachum Tuchman <nachum@...>

To all Busko-Zdroj researchers,

The records for Busko-Zdroj, formerly Kielce Gubernia, have been
translated, and put into an excel spreadsheet.

The birth and death records are for the years 1886-1900, excluding 1889
and 1891. The marriage records are for the years 1886, 1893-1900.

Please contact me for information on how you can receive the excel
spreadsheet.

For more information, see the website for the Pinczow project at
www.jewishgen.org/JRI-PL/psa/psapinczow.htm .

You will also find information for neighboring towns that are also part of
the Pinczow project.

BINDER (CHASAN) - Bialystok to Brooklyn #general

Steve Gabai <sgabai@...>

I'm interested in Mary/Miriam BINDER, most likely >from Bialystok. She was
born around 1863 and married Sol CHASAN around 1880.

They had two children in Europe and immigrated to the US in the early
1890s. They settled in Brooklyn where they had two more children.

Mary died around 1905 and Sol went on to marry two more times.

For those who are investigating their roots in Belarussia and Russia
(former Russian Empire or USSR) it would be useful to see Yiddish-Soviet
equivalent for First Names.
This information is based on real experience and memory of dozens of
former soviet citizens who have been through this adaptation.
You are welcome to see result on http://www.geocities.com/ronatuf

I sent a cashier's check and a computer list of 4 names I wanted documents
for to Lodz about a month ago. Now some people are saying they can't accept
cashier's checks at this time. Can someone who knows can tell me if this is
true?
