Re: A DENTIST, IN WINDHOEK? #southafrica

Dear Adam, I have asked my cousin Boris Friedman who lived for 1000 years in
Windhoek, to get into touch with you because there is nothing about Windhoek
that he does not know.
By the way, when your name pops up on the screen it always looks like a
South African indigenous name because the word Amandla - Freedom! looks so
like it.

Gustav GINSBERG(1873-1920s, probably 1922) was a
brother of my great-grand-father Senator Franz
GINSBERG.
He was a dentist and his place of residence was
Windhoek, South West Africa.

Pilgrim State Hospital 1930 E.D. (NY) #general

gmg <gmg613@...>

Not knowing NY geography well, I'm not sure whether the Morse
1930 census site can help me find the E.D for the Pilgrim State
Hospital.

It is now called Pilgrim Psychiatric Center and located at:
998 Crooked Hill Road, West Brentwood, NY 11717-1087

I understand this is Long Island, but not sure of the county, etc.

My goal is to find a patient at that hospital in the 1930 census.

Thanks,
Gary

Thanks to IAJGS - Yizkor Book Project #general

Joyce Field

On behalf of the hundreds of people who contributed translations
of yizkor material, those who translated the material, and those
who volunteered their services to staff the Yizkor Book Project,
I wish to thank IAJGS for presenting the Yizkor Book Project the
award of outstanding contribution to Jewish genealogy at the
Toronto conference. To Leonard Markowitz, Susannah Juni, and
Martin Kessel, who dreamed the dream, we also extend our thanks.
To the landsmanschaftn who gave us permission to post translations
on the web, we also extend our thanks. To Harriet Brown, who has
helped in many functions, and the wonderful html staff, we extend
our thanks. And to Lance Ackerfeld, who has volunteered since the
beginning of the Project, our very special thanks.

This has truly been a team effort. No one could achieve this
level of accomplishment alone. I am humbled by all the people
who shared the dream, by the unfailing support of JewishGen, and
by IAJGS for recognizing the Yizkor Book Project.

Thanks to all of you.
