Enumeration districts #general

Mike Fischer <miketran@...>

Through Ancestry.com, I subscribed to the on line 1920 census. It is very
nice, but I have to figure out which district I should be looking for or
I will be looking at zillions of files. Is there anywhere on the Internet
that I can find out which district certain addresses would appear ? I
really don't want to order films or wait till I can get into the Archives
or the NY Public Library.

1910 Ohio Census - TRAPUNSKY record #general

mtrap@...

Hi All,

I have a question regarding a record I found on Ancestry.com >from the 1910
Ohio Census (Cuyahoga, Cleveland County).

The record is for the family of a Louis FRIEDMAN, his wife - Minna,
daughter - Rosa, son - Nathan, and Louis’ brother-in-law Ike TRAPUNSKY
who was 18 at that time and was born in Russia. This is the only
TRAPUNSKY/TRAPUNSKI record I have come across so far where the person
wasn’t related to me.

My question is: Given the small amount of information, how can I go about
tracking down additional records and/or information on this family. I
don’t have any idea when Minna FRIEDMAN or Ike TRAPUNSKY passed away, or
if they were even still living in Cleveland (or Ohio for that matter) at
that time.

I was also wondering if the 1910 Ohio Census records would give
additional information on Minna’s and Ike’s parents. And if the records
do have that information, can anyone suggest how I could go about ordering
the record.

Any help and/or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks very much,

Michael Trapunsky

John Berman <Zah@...>

Well its been a week and we have successfully moved 10 Sites and have a

It has been relatively error free, a few tweaks here and there. If you have
made a submission to move your site don't worry it will happen and you will
be contacted. To ensure you get the best service possible can I ask that
you make no more requests to move a site until further notice (about
1 week) so we can check techie side is correct. Thanks for your patience

Hello,
My last name is Tobin and I was always told that this name was of Irish
Catholic origin. However, in the past couple of years I have met a number
of people who have told me that Tobin is a Jewish name. Can anyone help
with this? Thanks,

E-mail Address for Rachel KOSTANIAN, Vilnius #general

smthted@...

Dear group,

I am trying to contact Rachel Kostanian at the Jewish Museum in Vilnius,
but the address that I have used through mid-October (jmuseum@puni.osf.lt)
--which is also the address recommended by Davida Handler in a note to
this list in late December--does not seem to be good anymore. Does anyone
have a more recent, workable alternative?

Please reply privately.

Family ROSENER #general

Herb Sollinger

Can any one help me find a "missing" branch of my family by the name of
ROSENER??

They immigrated >from Germany, probably Berlin, in the last half of the
19th Century. They lived in Philadelphia.. Theresa Rosenbaum married
Philip Rosener. Their children were Gus, Julius, and Jack. I found the
name Blanche as well, but I am not clear as to her relationship. Gus
Rosener married Lizzie, Julius married Nellie Goldsmith, Jack married
Miryam.

Theresa Rosenbaum Rosener and my gggm, Ernestine Rosenbaum Schlesinger
were sisters.
TIA for any help.

EISENBERG, Hartford, CT, USA #general

Batya Olsen <batya@...>

Hello all,

I'm looking for descendants/family of Louis EISENBERG, born circa
1898, possibly in Connecticut.
His parents were William EISENBERG (1865-1948) and Anna KELMAN
(1875-1942) [my great grandfather's sister.] Other children in this
family were
Harriet, born in the 1890s in Vilna (probably gubernia)
Sarah, born 1900, Vilna
Betty, born 1901 in Connecticut and
Fanny, born 1907 in Connecticut.
The family lived in Hartford for the 1920 census. William and Anna
continued to live in Hartford until their deaths.

Thank you for any clues you can provide,

Batya

Hungarian Cemetery, Newark, NJ #general

Howh20@...

Continuing the thread of Jewish cemeteries in northern New Jersey, I have
been told that two possible relatives of mine were buried in the Hungarian
Cemetery in Newark. However, upon calling the telephone company, they
indicate that there is no such listing in Newark or in the surrounding
area.
Can anyone be of help? Thanks.

The colored plastic, or sometimes colored paper, helps to sharpen the
image on poor quality microfilm. Yellow seems to work best.
