Joyce Weaver <joyweave@...>
I'd appreciate those versed in Yiddish and Russian taking a look at View
Mate # VM071. I've posted two very short items there. Both are written on the backs of pictures >from my mother's album. The Yiddish one is difficult because the handwriting is bad and the Russian one has some missing areas where glue pulled off the ink. Anything anyone can make of them would be much appreciated. Joy Weaver mail to: joyweave@erols.com Poland: (Zaklikow, Lublin): Blumberg, Fogiel, Rozenel./ Belarus:(Brest, Grodno): Feinberg, Vilner.

Eudora

Arlene Beare <arl@...>
I heartily agree with Martha.I have used Eudora for years and it is
excellent. It always warns you if the message is in another form and asks if you want to send it in Plaintext. The default is to send in plain text. There are 3 forms of Eudora. Eudora lite which is still free. Eudora sponsored which is also free but has a very small advert at the bottom and Eudora Pro which you pay for. The free versions are excellent and there is no need to buy it. You can still continue to use aol, outlook or any other mail programme. It would save you uninstalling aol v6.0 I repeat the URL that Martha gave http://www.qualcomm.com or http://www.eudora.com I also have no commercial interest in Eudora. New matzeiva
#hungary
Shlomo Mandel <snm@...>
My cousin Yanky K. came along for the Waller matzeiva rededication in Kosice.
His father's mother is buried in Budapest and I have been trying to locate the records in the Orthodox kehilla for some time. On the way back >from Kosice, we called the Neolog community office and behold they had the record. Apparantly in 1915 the Orthodox community only buried Budapest residents and since she was a visitor (in hospital) in Budapest, she was buried in the neolog section. So on Friday an hour before shabbos, enroute back to the hotel >from the 4 hour journey >from Kosice, my cousin found his grandmother....... in one day he found our mother's father in Kosice and his father's mother in Budapest. And it all began with a posting on your web site ...... SN

I am not sure where they, "my Grunhuts," came from. Fulop (Philipp, Pinkas)
was borne cc 1819 and married Netti Steiner. Their children were Katalin (cc1845 - ?), Roza (Rosine) (1851-?), Albert (1853-1896), Mor (1858-?), Henrik (1862-?), Izidor (1864-?) and Jozsef (1866-1931), all in Budapest. My grandmother is Albert's daughter. If you need their children, let me know. Attila

Dear Schlomo,

First, if your local LDS returned your films to Salt Lake City by mistake, they should get them back for you at no cost (the same recently happened to me). As for the permanent loan, it is truly permanent; once you renew for the second time, you don't have to return them (at least this is so in the U.S.) Of course, they must remain at the Family History Center (you can't take them home with you). These films can all be purchased at the archives in Budapest; several people have written to the Hungarian List saying that they have done this (at about $15(?) per roll) of course, you will stil need a viewer once you get them. I know must start again @$5.50 per film (Canadian) and renew for2 more times.

Martha Lev-Zion <martha@...>
Can I suggest that those of you who have already changed to aol v6.0, and
are unable to change back, perhaps download the free Eudora at www.qualcomm.com and write your letters Jewishgen and SIG letters through them? It is certainly sufficient for our needs. I have no interest in this company. I used the free version for years and now use EudoraPro and am simply a satisfied user. Martha, in Israel
