SCHWAB family (Cincinnati)
#usa
Julian Edel <edel@...>
I am looking for the family of Moses SCHWAB who left Bavaria and settled in
Cincinnati, Ohio. Moses was married to Rosa nee JONES and had 3 daughters. Essie, born in 1881, Gertrude born in 1882 and Florence, born in 1885. I believe that Florence may have married a Michael H. PLAUT and had 2 daughters, Jeannette, born in 1910 and Rose born in 1912 in Cincinnati. Can anyone help me with information about this family? Many thanks, Susan Edel (nee Schwab), Petach Tikva, Israel

New computer data base for records from Rodeph Shalom in
#usa
Janet Akaha <Akaha@...>
I have found a data base that I would like to see added to Jewishgen (or
elsewhere) and wondered how to go about seeing it happen. Several years ago I went through a microfilm which included circumcision records for Rodeph Shalom Congregation in Philadelphia. These records begin in 1848 and end around 1864. At the time I xeroxed about 10 pages (including the entire index) and I also have entered some of the information on my computer. I have information >from the actual records the following surnames (about 100 fathers representing about 200 sons , however no translation of the Hebrew): ADLER BACHARACH BAMBERGER CAHN COHEN COHN DREIFUSS EINSTEIN FLEISHER FRANK GANS GOLDSMITH HISTER KAHN LEHMAN MAYER OPPENHEIMER SCHEUER SIMON SONDHEIM STERN THALHEIMER WEICHSELBAUM I have recently been in contact with the Hebrew Jewish Archives in Cincinnati. I have requested that the approximately 200 pages of records and an additional 20 pages of their early marriage records be xeroxed and sent to me. When they arrive, I would like to get ALL of the information into a data base. However, these records do include Hebrew which I can not read. Please contact me if you would be willing to help me translate the Hebrew or help with any other work on this project. Each page probably has only around 8 records and several people >from Gersig have offered to lend their support. Akaha@compuserve.com Janet Billstein Akaha Salinas, CA Researching >from Hesse-Darmstadt: Billstein, Wertheim, Hexter/Hoechster/Hoexter, Sondheim(er), Spier/Spear, Kappenberg, Meyer (Einardshausen), Froehlich (Ulrichstein), = Sim(p)son Researching >from Bavaria: Blum and Wolf (possibly Kleinsteinach), Fleisher (Memmelsdorf), Scheuer, Other in Germany: Kappenberg, Joseph (Bollenbach, Rheinpfalz), Sulzberger Baden: Thalheimer, Adler (Stuttgard), Aaron (Hechingen) Philadelphia: Simson, Adler, Ochs, Fleisher, Hexter, Raab (possibly Richmond, VA) Cohen, Wolf (originally >from Heinrichs, Thuringia, Hinzweiler and Bavaria), Leob, Gerstle (originally >from Fellheim), Liveright/Lebrecht (originally from Memmelsdorf), Weiler, ThalheimerOhio: Billstein, Wertheim, Scheuer, Spear, Hexter, Kappenberg, Keller, Dettelbach, Mahler, Heller, Aaron, Bachrach, Schoenberger, Moses
