I am searching for records of my grandfathers
military history. Known
information: He was a Captain in the Austro
Hungarian Cavalry. He
emigrated to the United States in approximately
1909-1913.

Marriage certificate puts him in Niklova at the time
of his marriage.
Name on certificate is Andreos Kavulya, son of Peter
and Marie Kavulya.

Any assistance in locating his recods would be
appreciated.

Hungarian language speaking mountain village close to
Ujhely. E. Fenyes does not tell how many Jews lived
there in the 1830s.

The Fenyes book, two volumes, entitled MAGYARORSZAG
GEOGRAPHIAI SZOTARA, was published in 1851 and was
republished in 1984. Allami Konyvterjeszto Vallalat
published it and printed it in Szeged. To translate
the work or even to summarize it would be a major
undertaking.

into English.
