I too think Barbara is correct.  I saw impacted bowels many times with one of my medical social work clients, who fortunately survived.

I would want to know why he wants to post your aunt's testimony on his FB page.  As she is not his relative, this seems unusual to me, at the very least. I would proceed cautiously, if at all, given the frequency with which the accounts of real people are cloned or otherwise misappropriated.

The town name Walladuk is probably misread. The first capital letter may be M (like in the handwritten Shoe Maker, May 25, Married,....).
The closest match I found is Malachovka (could d be ch?). One place is in Ukraine(near Kiev), another one near Moscow.
The Ellis Island manifest may not be the right one. Solomon's profession in this manifest is "tailor", not shoe maker.

Re: searching for information on family of Jake (Yankel) MUSHKAT

Thank you to those who wrote me publicly and privately, especially Johanna Becker who researched Mr. Mushkat for me.

Many wrote me to suggest possible reasons he left my father and avenues of research.  These pretty much followed the lines that I had already assumed.  I am grateful for the time each of you spent considering the situation.

Subject: [JewishGen.org] Retrieving German Citizenship

I am writing for a friend, Rebecca, who is trying to recover the German citizenship that was stripped from her Grandmother by the Nazi citizenship laws.  Rebecca is of Jewish descent on her mother's side.

Rebecca has visited Germany and has gotten most of the basic documents. Her Grandmother, Ida Seigheim, was born 6/28/1887 in Georgenheim bei Tamowitz Oberschleisen, Germany to Bertha Berliner (b. 1841 Oppeln Oberschleisen, Germany – now Opole,, Poland) and Eugen Seigheim (b. 1840 Oppeln).  Ida  married Dr Ernst Freudenburg on May 23, 1910 in Munich.  Ernst was the Director of the pediatric hospital In Marburg.  A 1933 law said that any Aryan married to a Non-Aryan could no longer serve as a state employee.  Being  forced to leave his position, the family left Germany in 1938 for Basel after paying the Jewish departure tax.

In 2017, Germany passed a law authorizing the descendants of Germans who were deprived of their citizenship because of religion to apply to have that citizenship reinstated.  Rebecca has been working to prove that her grandmother was in fact a German citizen and that she was Jewish.  Ida’s birth certificate proves that she was a German citizen but does not mention her religion.  Her marriage certificate states her religion as "..braischer".  Apparently the first two letters" He" were cropped in making the copy and the German authorities say that is not enough.  Her grandmother’s parents were both Jewish and were members of the Neue Synagogue in Opplen Germany, now Opole Poland.

Any suggestions on how Rebecca can prove that her grandmother was Jewish or on how she can get copies of German documents from Poland.

I also have a family member there and the cemetery sent me a couple of photos.  Since the stone is flat the weather really worn in down but I can see her name faintly.

There is no "W" in Cyrillic.  I would suggest checking Polish, Lithuanian, or Latvian sources.

The 1920 Census lists Solomon Sherman arriving in the USA in 1913 and Russian.  Profession Shoe Maker.  Below are "Speculative" Documents I found at Ellis Island Website that May or May Not be him!  Have yet to find documents corroborating the Parents of this Solomon Sherman.

Seeking information on Henoch KAC (KATZ) (prob. born between 1860-1880) who came to the US between 1904-1915 from Hoshcha (Hoszcza/Goshcha), Ukraine. He died crossing picket line--he probably didn’t know the language enough to know not to cross it. Per family lore, this happened in/around Boston and widow received compensation back home Family in Europe did not immigrate to the US. Henoch may have stayed with brother-in-law and sister-in-law. The maiden name of the sister-in-Law was Zeigermakher. Possible connection to a Max Nathan Silberman. I can't find strike, insurance company, union involved, death record or burial place. Any help or hints would be appreciated.

Thank you!

I would suggest to try this Hungarian database https://hungaricana.hu/en/  under "archives". Searching on the family name of my grandfather I found several court records for his brother, who was arrested for fraud. This huge Hungarian database is really a "gold mine" for genealogy.

Alberto:
I know that I probably sound like a cynic but before you give this man further information ask him how he found you and what he already knows. Also, did you post a page of testimony on Yad Vashem?  I would also think that if he wants people to post information on Yad Vashem he would also have gotten in touch with them.

I am not saying he is not a "real person" but these days we all need to be careful about what personal or family information we sometimes release and I have been doing genealogical research for a long time so I welcome new information when I can get it.

Good luck and keep the group posted
