Searching: KEHLER, ROBBINS, SHAPIRO > Philadelphia, Pa #general

IRGRAFFMAN@...

I am looking to make contact with or make connection with anyone who may
know of my grandfathers family. I am looking to continue my genealogy work
on this branch of my family:

Dora SHAPIRO, daugher of Samuel SHAPIRO m Joseph ROBBINS
Children: Emmanuel, Maurice, Jack, Saul. Also Mirium who married
mr AUGSBERGER and Mildred who m Steve(?) KEHLER.
I met Mirium and Steve(?) over 30 years ago as a teen.
Remember that they had 1 boy and 1 or 2 girls.

Dora SHAPIRO's siblings were Lewis, Simon (Robert), Percy (Bill),
Emma (m FAGELSON), Gertrude and my grandfather, George.

All lived in Philadelphia PA or in surrounding area.

Any leads on this family will be appreciated.

Thank you

Searching: DZWONKOWSKI & MIKANOVSKY from Warsaw #general

Michael Trapunsky <mtrap@...>

Hi all,

I am searching for anyone by the name of DZWONKOWSKI or MIKANOVSKY. They
are 3 of the children and grandchildren of Alter Moshe and Menicha
DZWONKOWSKI (phonetic spelling) >from Warsaw, Poland.

1) Reuven DZWONKOWSKI. He had a son named Yudel and two daughters Menicha
and Chana. Yudel came to the U.S. in the early to mid 1900's (I think) and
was either a weight lifter, wrestler or boxer. He may have changed his last
name in the States.

2) Golda married Joshua MIKANOVSKY and had Marsha, Elka, and a son. I know
nothing else of them. They may have all died in Warsaw during the War.

3) Yakov DZWONKOWSKI. He had two sons, Harry and another one. They both
changed their last name to ADLER when they moved to England. Harry died in
London in 1983. I don't know anything about his brother except that he was
married and had children.

If anyone knows of these families, or can point me in the right direction,
I would love to hear >from you.

Thanks very much.

FISHMAN Found #general

phil kornstein <beltsy@...>

This is indeed a wonderful forum. This morning I received an email >from a
member of the FISHMAN family of Armenia, Colombia. Thank God they are safe.
Fortunately the family had left Armenia years ago for other cities in
Colombia as well as Israel. The cousin who contacted me still lives in the
same region as Armenia and apparently was contacted by a friend who
subscribes to this digest.

We never know who may be reading the digest so I urge anyone who is
searching or has a question not to hesitate and post it. Thanks to all who
assisted in my search.

Does anyone know the whereabouts of any of the HARRIS family >from Toronto,
Canada.

Louis HARRIS d'cd son of Esther & Harry originally for England. They were
members of the Louis COHEN family.

There were around 8 or 9 children and I believe that one of Louis Harris'

Searching: GITEL family - Vilna and Israel #general

Michael Trapunsky <mtrap@...>

Hi all,

I'm searching for the GITEL family >from Vilna and Israel.

Freidel (1878-1940) KOWARSKI was the eldest (?) of the 13 children of
Gedalia and Fruma (1862-1918) KOWARSKI of Swienciany and Vilna. Freidel
married Eliyahu GITEL and they had at least two children Rivka and Eliyahu.

Eliyahu moved to Israel shortly before or after the war, and was a doctor
on a Kibbutz there. He married a woman named Miriam and they had a son
named Yoseph. I think that at some point Yoseph got married, moved to
Africa, and had a daughter.

If anyone knows of this family, or can point me in the right direction, I

Finding Missing Cousins in Illinois #general

Daniel Kazez <dkazez@...>

I need help finding missing cousins in Illinois. Perhaps there
are tools or resources I don't know about?

Shirley Solomon was born 1920s, married Melvin Lieberman, had
children Donna Lieberman and Howard Lieberman, both perhaps born
in the 1950s. Shirley died maybe in the 1960s, maybe in Chicago.

I have contacted all "Liebermans" by e-mail and all U.S.
Melvin/Donna/Howard Liebermans with telephone numbers. In the
mail today, I received a record >from the state of Illinois
informing me that it has no death record for Shirley Lieberman.

I recently visited a great family history library in Indiana, and
found wonderful state records for many states, but not Illinois.

The names I have listed are not important, what is important
is my question: What is my next step? Are there special tips,
techniques, or tricks that you would recommend for my Illinois
search?
