Dear Listers!!!!

I have found my sister's grave!!!!! A wonderful woman....Osnat, who works at
the Jewish community in Frankfurt was so kind to take the time and search...
My sister is buried in the New Jewish Cemetary. I found a link!!!! To all
jewishgenners and Listers.....Osnat deserves a round of applause for her help.
She is an asset to all of us. Thank you all who have tried to help me.....I
am truly grateful! The success story came to me on the day I was in synagogue
for a a-male-rachamim for my sister's yiskor.

The ALD contains varying amounts of information for each type of record, and
because of this factor, there have been some technical difficulties working on
the specific search fields. For instance, Revision Lists have 22 fields, each
with valuable information regarding names, ages, relationship to others in
family, and miscellaneous information relating to occupations, absences from
town, etc. In our test model, we have been able to display an entire line
showing all of these facts about the individual found, and are presently
working on keeping all the records in a household together, so that one can
view the entire family at once.

Other lists, such as Voters, Taxes, Vital Records, etc., can hold anywhere
from 10 to 25 fields.
One way to speed up this process is to volunteer to input data. We have a
huge backlog of data >from a variety of shtetlach and uyezds, and need to get
it into the necessary format. We have had terrific volunteers so far, and
many of them have input several shtetlach each. Most have even found family
in the process! While we realize that you would prefer to input for your own
shtetl, please be aware that you may find matches in a shtetl you never even
heard of.

To input, write to Davida Noyek Handler or Anne Rothman at:

<Litvaks@aol.com>

and we will put you right to work!

We are almost there, and appreciate everyone's patience. Once up, this
database will be an incredible research tool.

NEED HELP #poland

Frida Grapa de Cielak <arele@...>

I NEED HELP
At one time, while searching the Cementery Information >from Wyszkow I found
some information concerning family members, among them Zyndel Czerwonagura,
I have gone into all the possible search instruments I know on your webside
and I don't find it any more.
What would be the best way, for anybody interested, to retrive information
on your webside?
What or how can we find the NEW information that you all, with great
effort, add to the site? I looks like I always find the "old" information I
have reviewed several times.
Please help us all with easy steps to follow.
With great respect and admiration for all you have achived at JewishGen:

I was asked a question about the ALD which I am not in a position to answer. I
decided to post the question on the Digest since the answer could be of
interest to many others.

Question; When the ALD is finalized, and available on the web, will the
capability be there to see an entire revision list as such or, can only names
be searched. If one is capable of looking at an entire record, they may be
able to find previously unknown ancestors.

Barry Spinak <punim@...>

Larry,
Your list of kinnuim is interesting. My GGF's name was thought to be
"Schriga Faivel" but, according to your list, those two names describe the
same name.
One question - what exactly is a "candle name" ??

Re: Linda Wilkins searching "Slavintich" and "Ciedlce", Poland
Linda must be refering to my birth Shtetl "Slawatycze" which is located
on the Polish side of the Bug River between Wlodawa and Koden. Siedlce
(not Ciedlce)is a town on the E30 highway between Warsaw and BialaPodlaska.
A lot of info can be found on these two Shtlach on JewishGen and other
search engines.
Last october I visited Slawatycze and would be happy to communicate with
anyone seeking information on my Shtetl Slawatycze.

Seeking my maternal family: RYBKOWSKI, RIBKOWSKI, REPKOWSKI, RAPKOWSKI
who are Kohanim and also seeking SWIATLOSC, and PALUCH, all >from the
Wlodawa, Slawatycze,
Hanna and Domachevo area.
