Hi all,
I'm looking for any information on the ZAWISHYNSKI and BROMBERG families from Warsaw, Poland. My wife's great grandfather, Yisroel Tzvi (Hirsch) ZAVIN, was born in 1871 in Poland (probably Warsaw). His parents were Shea and Sarah ZAWISHYNSKI (it was changed to ZAVIN in the States). In addition to Hirsch, Shea and Sarah had 3 other children including a daughter named Leah. Leah married Itzik BROMBERG and they had 5 children that I know of: Morris, Sarah, Yossi, Max, Hymie. If anyone knows of these families, or can point me in the right direction, I would love to hear >from you. Thanks very much. Michael Trapunsky Rego Park, New York mtrap@idt.net

Searching: Beti COHEN, born ELISCA, from Iasi, Romania
#general
Monica Talmor <mtalmor@...>
I am searching for the relatives of my grandfather's cousin Beti Cohen,
born in Iasi, Romania about 1890. Her maiden name was Elisca, and she came to the US before 1910, and married Mr. Cohen, also >from Iasi. I don't know Mr. Cohen's first name. I do know that he was a tailor, they lived in NYC, and as a widow in the late 1960's Beti was living in a retirement home in Miami. I know that she had several children and grandchildren but I have no names. I have checked both the JewishGen Family finder and the RomSig family finder, and have written to several people searching Cohen >from Iasi, but I have received no replies yet. This search is very important to my father in particular, and I'm hoping to get some leads. Thank you to all. Monica Talmor Hamden, CT mtalmor@biomed.med.yale.edu

Searching: DZWONKOWSKI & MIKANOVSKY from Warsaw
#general
Michael Trapunsky <mtrap@...>
Hi all,
I am searching for anyone by the name of DZWONKOWSKI or MIKANOVSKY. They are 3 of the children and grandchildren of Alter Moshe and Menicha DZWONKOWSKI (phonetic spelling) >from Warsaw, Poland. 1) Reuven DZWONKOWSKI. He had a son named Yudel and two daughters Menicha and Chana. Yudel came to the U.S. in the early to mid 1900's (I think) and was either a weight lifter, wrestler or boxer. He may have changed his last name in the States. 2) Golda married Joshua MIKANOVSKY and had Marsha, Elka, and a son. I know nothing else of them. They may have all died in Warsaw during the War. 3) Yakov DZWONKOWSKI. He had two sons, Harry and another one. They both changed their last name to ADLER when they moved to England. Harry died in London in 1983. I don't know anything about his brother except that he was married and had children. If anyone knows of these families, or can point me in the right direction, I would love to hear >from you. Thanks very much. Michael Trapunsky Rego Park, New York mtrap@idt.net

FISHMAN Found

phil kornstein <beltsy@...>
This is indeed a wonderful forum. This morning I received an email >from a
member of the FISHMAN family of Armenia, Colombia. Thank God they are safe. Fortunately the family had left Armenia years ago for other cities in Colombia as well as Israel. The cousin who contacted me still lives in the same region as Armenia and apparently was contacted by a friend who subscribes to this digest. We never know who may be reading the digest so I urge anyone who is searching or has a question not to hesitate and post it. Thanks to all who assisted in my search.
