My mother, Rose EPSTEIN and most of her family came to this country from
Grodno in 1917. She was 12 years old.

Her older sister, Monya did not come with the family. I believe it was
because she was married. Her married surname is believed to be BABINDA or
BABINDUR.

The Yizkor Book Project in July was characterized by a great deal of updates
as you will see below. It is always encouraging to see the projects make
progress - step by step - till the final goal is reached and the complete
Yizkor book is translated. This amazing progress is due to the untiring
determination of the coordinators leading these projects and they certainly
deserve our salute for all that they do.

In the individual Yizkor book projects, the blue links appearing in the
table of contents of each project lead to the articles that have been
translated. I'm quite often asked about why articles that don't have blue
links can't be read and if a paid subscription is required to see the
"hidden" articles. No, there is no charge for reading the articles that have
been translated and, on the contrary, and our basic aim is to allow free,
global access to everyone for the translated Yizkor book material. So if the
article isn't available and you are interested in reading it, the next
logical step would be to assist with financial support in the translation of
the article. For this it is worthwhile looking at and donating to the
specific Translations Fund project if it is listed on the JewishGen-erosity
page (link at the end) or by contacting myself so that I can provide you
with an estimate of the cost of translation and you can decide if it's
something you are able to take on.

For those of you who would like to know more about the Yizkor Book Project
and will be at the upcoming IAJGS Conference in Seattle, I warmly recommend
you taking part in our Yizkor Book Birds of a Feather meeting. This year it
is being led by Max Heffler who is and has been an integral partner in our
Yizkor Book team and has a great deal of knowledge and experience regarding
the project.

For those of you who are going to the conference, I do wish you an excellent
and rewarding time whilst you're there.

added a referance of addresses >from the 1916-1920 census >from Lodz

The second street is know to us (Zgierska) while we are completely
clueless about the first address- Rielbacha(?)

We didn't found any evidence of such street ever existing in Lodz
Also it is written on the top of the page Budapesztu (if we managed to
read it correctly), they NEVER lived in Budapest- or maybe was there
maybe an area in Lodz with this name during these years?
