Re: Mother's Name on Gravestone #general

In several cases, I have seen the name of the mother (or other relatives)
on the gravestone where the people were killed in the Holocaust and
therefore do not have a gravestone of their own anywhere.

Blocking messages #general

Steven Chall <steven.chall@...>

Many e-mail packages allow the user to filter incoming messages according
to the sender. In some cases (several of our SIGs are examples), I
cannot send a message to the recipient unless the filter specifically my
address. It is a useful method to avoid spammers. But be aware that if
you configure your mailer to do this, you will not be able to receive
direct responses to any questions you post.

Some people who have recently signed the JewishGen Guest Book and have
not received an acknowledgement fall into this category as well as those
who sign bogus addresses.

Searching: SEIDENWAR- Israel and Canada #general

Michael Trapunsky <mtrap@...>

Hi all,

I am doing research on the SEIDENWAR family >from Evonsk and Tarnow, Poland.

Chaim SEIDENWAR moved >from Evonsk or Tarnow to Israel in the early 1900's
with his family. He had at least 3 children:

Unknown son SEIDENWAR
Yankel SEIDENWAR
Unknown daughter SEIDENWAR who was married. She had a boy and a girl, one
of whom moved to Boston or Detroit later on.

Chaim SEIDENWAR had a sister who was married. She and her family moved to
Canada also in the early 1900's but I don't know where to or what her
married name was. Does anyone know if there is any way possible to track
them down with what little information I have? Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks very much.

Help at Public Records Office in Kew #general

R. Naidia Mosher <RNMOSHER@...>

Dear JewishGenners,

I'm trying to locate an Application for Naturalization for my paternal
grandfather, Simon Wolf KYJAWSKI (or KUJAWSKI). My g.f., who came from
Lodz, Poland, arrived in England some time between 1893 and 1895. At that
time he was 15-17 years old.

At some point my g.f. anglicized his last name to WOLF (or WOOLF). His
marriage cert. shows his last name as WOLF; his death cert.gives his name
as Simon WOOLF (with 2 "o's").

When I was at the Public Records Office in Kew in Sept. I checked the
Applications for Naturalization records for 1900-1939 under the names
Kyjawski, Kujawski, Wolf, and Woolf but couldn't find a listing. I meant
to go back & check 1893 to 1900 but by that time I wasn't thinking
straight. Now I am 5,000 miles away >from Kew and don't know when I will be
back in the UK.

I'd appreciate hearing >from anyone planning to do similar research at the
Public Records Off. in Kew in near future, someone who might be interested
in checking the years 1893-1900 for me.

Please respond privately.
