Searching for ancestors from Mogilev, Russia
#general
mouallem@...
I am looking for any information regarding Jews >from Mogilev. My
g.grandparents were born there but emigrated to the US in the early 1900's, it is my understanding that the rest of the family dispersed throughout Eastern Europe. I am also looking for the remaining members of the family who may be living in California, they would have the surname LUKAS. The surnames that I am researching are: LUKASHEVSKY (changed to Lukas), SCHLEIFER and FORSTADT. I have searched on the Jewish Gen family finder and came up blank, does anyone know a better way in which to locate information on this area? Thank you in advance, Carole Mouallem

French Painter Henry CARO-DELVAILLE
#general
Rene <106141.360@...>
TheJewish French painter/engraver Henry CARO-DELVAILLE born 1876 in
Bayonne ( Pyrenees Atlantiques), died in 1926 in Paris. He was a member of the Ecole Francais and inspired by Bonnat and Maignan. He studied at the Societe Nationale des Beaux Arts. Besides the names of some of his paintings this is all I know of him and was available at the library of the Amsterdam Rijksmuseum. I like to know more about this painter and his possible descendants. It would not surprise me at all if one of the readers of Jewishgen has more on CARO-DELVAILLE or other sources where I could find more. Thanks Rene van Wijngaarden/Etten-Leur/Netherlands researching: DelValle/Salom del Valle/Van Daelen/Valhe

I suppose you'll have name tags. An extra gimmick would be to work out
a way to identify members of each different branch of your family tree with a nametag of a different color. Alan Wilmington, NC

Finding Family in Grodno today
#general
Jeanne Gold <JeanneGold@...>
Dear JewishGenners,
I don't remember now which site I was on, but it had to do with Temples/Synagogues around the world. I had a crazy idea, and wrote to several, asking if there was some way to open communication between them and us to help us find our living relatives in Grodno. The following reply just came. I would like to organize those interested and send a single reply (which is why I didn't include how to contact them directly). Please write to me (privately) telling me what you want said/sent to them. Jeanne Gold JeanneGold@iname.com http://www.gold-cousins.org Date: Wed, 21 Oct 1998 19:32:59 +0200 (GMT)organizations. Now our community "Menorah" is goig to organize a Jewish kindergarten.
