"BRALOFF" - Change most possibly occuring sometime between 1910 and 1920.

surname. I have to wonder if our surname could have been an occupation rather
than a noun?? And if it was derived >from "PROPINACJA" to PROPN then shorten
to PROP. The surname PROP was firmly established by the 1847 Revision List of
Skaudvile, Lithuania.

I would ask anyone who wishes to either reply in private to my email address
or in public i.e. litvaksig to give whatever input they would wish to.

It was said shortly after Summer Jewish Genealogy Seminar that a "catalog" of
the holdings of Kaunas Archive would be completed shortly. Is there any
additional information concerning the catalog at this time.

I forwarded, a couple of months ago, several sets of records for the shtetl of
Krakes, I do not see them on the "All Lithuanian Database" nor have I received
any type of acknowledgement. What is going on with the database. These
records where send to me by either David or Davida or both about a year ago.
They have been submitted at least twice using differnet formats.

We could all use an update on what is going as now, such as status on the
purchase of archival materials by different Uyzed research groups, etc. The
information flow has been minimal as of late?? May just be the holidays,
which I hope everyone had an enjoyable and meaningful holiday time??

say the Jewishgen Moderator), who don't always know these acronyms ? I'm
beginning to be used to, after having asked here and there, but many
friends of mines goes on asking me about that special English (or American)
coded language...

Moreover, I've read about it in Jewishgen rules (since Jewishgen is hosting
LitvakSIG), #3 Queries and Replies :

JewishGen reaches a global audience.Many of your readers do not have
English as >their primary language. [...] The use of slang and
