Status of Acquired Records
#subcarpathia
Beth Long
Have any Subcarpathia birth/death/marriage been acquired through this project?
If so, what is the status (list of records acquired, progress of transcription?) It has been quite some time since this SIG was formed, and I have not yet seen any information on this subject Beth Long Salt Lake City MODERATOR'S REPLY: A progress report was presented at the IAJGS Conference in Jerusalem last July, on the very questions you are posing. The minutes of the meeting were sent out on 9 July 2015, excerpts of which are reproduced below: Following is a list of records that were acquired to date: - All Rabbinical birth/marriage/death records, 1830-1895 - Most Civil records, 1895-1930 - 1869 Census (not Zemplin county, except for Sobrance) - Records filmed by the LDS - Hungarian Gendarmerie ghetto confiscation records A team of native language transcribers will be starting the transcription soon. A message will be sent to all researchers on this mail list at a later date. Any other questions, contact off-list.

Viewmate Translation Request- Visa Application at US Embassy in Warszawa- Dawid Kirszenberg
#poland
Jeff Kronenberg <jeffkronenberg@...>
Dear Viewmate Community:
Shalom. I am trying to learn more about my family >from Warszawa, Poland. A full translation is requested >from each of these records posted on Viewmate. Posted below are 3 of 6 documents submitted to the U S Embassy in Warszawa, Poland, in 1930, on behalf of Dawid Kirszenberg, my great Uncle. All records are in Polish, except a birth record with 3 paragraphs of Russian. The KIRSZENBERG family originated in Lubartow, Poland; moved to Viskit (Wiskitki), and then finally to Warszawa in the 1910's. Only my Grandmohter, Dawid and 2 of his children emigrated to NYC and survived the Shoah. However,I am trying to learn more >from these records to see if there are any other survivors in the family. Below are the links to the Viewmate documents: http://www.jewishgen.org/ViewMate/viewmateview.asp?key=44257 This is the first version of the "Residency Certificate". Names and dates are straightforward, but I need help in translation of column headings and data in each column. http://www.jewishgen.org/ViewMate/viewmateview.asp?key=44258 This is a second version of the "Residency Certificate", but there are some variations in column headings and data included. There also might be an important passport number in this document. http://www.jewishgen.org/ViewMate/viewmateview.asp?key=44256 This handwritten document in Russian and Polish is some type of birth record for Dawid Kirszenberg, >from Lubartow. It may contain information on other family members. I am most indebted to your kind assistance in translation. Thank you!
