a sincere thank you #galicia

Joyce Eastman

I would like to express my sincere thanks to everyone who provided
assistance to me in helping to locate more information on the two
individuals noted as relatives on my uncle's Emigration Declaration
form (who were previously unknown to me).

While I have thanked each one individually, I wanted to publicly state
how much I have appreciated the assistance I have received >from many
of those who read these daily digests. Their help has been invaluable,
and I cannot stress enough how much I appreciate their effort on my
behalf. This is why I continue to be a firm supporter of JewishGen
each year.

newsletter via Email problem #general

Trudy Barch

Hi everyone,

Happy and healthy New Year to all and their families.

I send my annual family newsletter via Email. For family members that do
not use computers, I snail mail it.

With so many cousins not looking at their Email account and only using
Facebook they do not see my newsletter. I put a message on FB that the
newsletter has been sent to their Email address. But that still doesn't
mean they will look at it.

Any suggestions on how I can get around this problem?

Thank you,
Trudy Barch, Chicagoland

Pauline:
Kielce gubernia was Austrian only in the period 1795 (3rd partition of Poland) to
1806 (Napoleonic conquest). After Napoleon's time, it became part of Russian
Poland.

(One clue is the word "gubernia," which the Austrians didn't use.)

What town are you thinking of? In general, records >from before 1826 are pretty
rare.
