Peggy Mosinger Freedman <litvaktrip@...>

Howard Margol and I are organizing another group trip to Lithuania -
June 17 to June 27, 2014.

If you are interested in tracing your roots in Lithuania, Latvia, Eastern
Poland close to Lithuania, or Belarus, now is the time to sign up because
we will be limiting the group size to 25.

Included - visits to the various Archives, synagogues, ghettos, Holocaust
sites, meetings with Jewish leaders, sight-seeing, guide/interpreters, and
two days to visit and spend time in your shtetl, or shtetlach of interest.
All meals are included (except for one dinner and two lunches), the finest
hotels (new & modern), modern buses, and much more.

Howard and I are very familiar with the Archives, the archivists, Lithuania
and the main places of Jewish interest. Our previous trip participants can
be contacted if references are desired.

For details and a full itinerary of the trip, check our web site at:

Hi Christian,

If you search the names at http://www.movinghere.org.uk/ you will find very
interesting and detailed documents.

I searched Magdalena SCHULOF, and found a very detailed paper on her status
as a refugee in England.

Try searching the other names, and you may find documents on them as well.

Looking for children who survived Bergen Belsen and were brought to Sweden #general

Itai Hermelin <itai_h@...>

Hi

In 1946-1947 My grandparents, Egon and Deli Kux, worked with children who
survived Bergen Belsen and were brought to Sweden.
The children home (boarding school) was located in Lovsatra near Taby north
of Stockholm and then moved to villa Torekull in Billesholm near Helsingborg
(seen in two of the linked pictures).
If you recognize one of the children in the linked photos (born around 1934)

Dear fellow Geners,

Now for the second time in original documents released by Imperial
(Russian Empire) authorities (traveling documents / Passports) in the
1800's I see a reference to social class, middle class or Petit
Bourgeois. Can you please tell me why? How important it was? Why in
documents? Which criteria they did apply for classification?
Consequences if any of such a classification? Was everyone classified
or only Jewish people? Thanks in advanced.

Finding Missing Family in Britain: GREEN #general

Paul Mayerowitz <pmgeneology@...>

My grandfather had three brothers. All four emigrated >from Nowy Dwor, Poland
to Great Britain. We believe their names prior to emigration were MORTKOWITZ
(?). In England, Herschel wanted to be an actor and he changed his name to
Harry GREEN and the remaining brothers also changed their name. There is a
famous British actor Harry Green but he is not our relative. Max and Hyman
emigrated to the United States.

We believe that one of their sons in England was Paul Green but given the
number of Green/Greene's it is very hard to find the right one.

I have the following details >from his Declaration of Intention for Max
GREEN.

I was born in Nowidwor, Russia-Poland about the 1st day of May, anno Domini
1887; I now reside at 1015 Cookman Avenue, Asbury Park, New jersey. I
emigrated to the United States of America >from London, England, on the
vessel Cairnrona, thence by rail to Montreal and New York; my last foreign
residence was London, England.

My question is how do I track down the missing family in London.
