Seeking information about Nyazepetrovsk, Chelyibinsk Oblast #general

Maida Dacher

Hi Genners:

Just recently found out that a cousin, somewhere in the 1950's, moved >from
Omsk to Nyazepetrovsk, in the Chelyibinsk Oblast. He was born in 1928
which would make him about 85 today. Does anyone out there have any
information about the city of Nyazepetrovsk or family that came >from there.

Since we have longevity in our family, I was hoping he might still be living.
Unfortunately his father was shot by the NKVD in 1938. The mother in 1952
moved to Novosibirsk and Michael went to Nyazepetrovsk.

Thanks for help in this matter.

Belgium Cemetery Request #general

E Feinstein

I am researching the family SIMONS >from Rheydt, Germany.

One of their sons died in France and is buried in a cemetery in Rixensart, Belgium.
His name was Curt or Kurt SIMONS.

Does anyone have a suggestion of someone who can go to the cemetery for us?
Please let me know.

Do you know about this publication: Dorsten unterm Hakenkreuz? #germany

Lin <lin2@...>

I found an article about my Tante Frieda HUMBERG ROSENBAUM in the online
publication "Dorsten unterm Hakenkreuz." The title translates to
"Dorsten under the Swastica" and I wonder where this publication-
newsletter or whatever it is- is coming >from editorially.

I don't know if it is an online version of a newsletter or
what. I used the google translator to translate the article,
which appears to be factual. It seems like a good source of
information about German relatives/ancestors who came from
this area during the Nazi period.

I am just not sure what the viewpoint is of the publisher,
since the Facebook page of this publication has a lot of Nazi
photos etc. Is it just covering history?

Thank you for your time and consideration.

MEISNER - ZIEGLER - ROSNER (Zmigrod / Dukla) #general

Debbie Raff

Years ago, I amazingly was able to answer a mystery revolving around a Cuban
branch of my family. A Genner replied to my post writing that as a child in
Havana her sister was best friends with the person I asked about. The poster
had information which allowed me to connect online w/ a family member.

So, today, I thought I would ask about another part of my family.

My MEISNER family comes >from Nowy Zmigrod where my great grandfather,
Yisroel(abt.1850-1920) and his son, Lipa(1871-????) were mohels. Also, a
Dalisch MEISNER(abt 1840-1930) and her husband Josef ZIEGLER(Unknown-after
1926) lived in Zmigrod. I suspect Yisroel & Dalisch were siblings.

When Yisroel passed away in 1920, the name of his parents was blank on his
death entry. Darn it!

But, I knew that the nearby town of Dukla had many MEISNERS. So, over the
years I put together a mini tree of Dukla MEISNERS in order to connect those
families in hopes of attaching some to my tree at some point.

This brings me to Bennie MEISNER and his wife, Fannie. These 2 people are
buried in my family's plot at Mt. Hebron. It is a small plot and I now
suspect that Bennie may be a cousin of my grandmother. I do know via the
gravestone that Benny's father was Chaim. I do not know how Chaim may fit
in with my own family, however.

I checked my mini Dukla MEISNER family tree and lo & behold I did find
Bennie's family....Baruch (Benj., Bennie, Benny) MEISNER(1890-1980) married
Miriam Feiga (Fannie) ROSNER(1895-1969).

If anyone out there can shed light on this, it would be appreciated.

Hi,

Would appreciate some help with the following German-language map from=20

Hungary SIG #Hungary Literacy in Austria-Hungary (1880) - German language map #hungary

edelman@...

Hi,

Would appreciate some help with the following German-language map from=20
the Austro-Hungarian census >from 1880.

I am trying to find out if the "literacy" was only about German and=20
or/Hungarian (and what kind of German would it be -- I realize that they=20
are only considering reading AND writing) or any other language, even=20
Yiddish.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Literacy_in_Austria-Hungary_(1880).JPG=20
<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Literacy_in_Austria-Hungary_%281880%29=
.JPG>

I have already translated it and also picked out various phrases to=20
Google with in German, but no luck so far...

Thanks,
T
