Hi my fellow GerSig members,

I wondered if anyone knows if it is possible to find Jewish divorce
records for Frankfurt am Main, Wurzburg or Aschaffenburg?
The record I am looking for took place in 1897. Did records like that survive?
I had a look at the Familysearch website but did not see Jewish records
for that time period. Thanks very much for your help,

Feige Kauvar Stern, Cleveland, Ohio, feigestern@...

Subject: Jews of Bytca

Pavel Kral, whose book "The Jews in Bytca" chronicles the history of
Jewish residence in the Slovakian town of Bytca and the fate of its
residents during the Holocaust, has made a video, in Czech with English
subtitles, to mark the translation of the book into Hebrew. The original
was published in Czech. There are now translations in English and
Slovakian, as well as Hebrew.

Pavel has dedicated all proceeds >from the sale of his book to
establishment of a forest in Israel in memory of the Bytca Jews.

I would like to ask for your help in translating/interpreting a couple
of documents I have uploaded to Viewmate;

VM24006 - http://www.jewishgen.org/viewmate/viewmateview.asp?key=24006 and
VM11702 - http://www.jewishgen.org/viewmate/viewmateview.asp?key=11702

One is a marginal note added to an ancestor's birth matrik in 1946,
years after the birth. The other is a note on the back of another
ancestor's death certificate.

Many thanks in advance.

KNOBEL of Dombrowa, Poland : seeking descendants #general

Ann Linder

I am seeking possible descendants of KNOBEL. Helen KNOBEL (KNOBL) was married to
Moshe WEGIER (WENGER); they had 3 children and lived in Chorzow and before
deportation in Sosnowiec. Helen had a brother who survived WWII-- Meyer KNOBEL. He
was in the Russian Army and rode a horse in the army. The KNOBEL family was >from
Dombrowa.I am searching for Meyer's descendants, if any.
