My sister, where are you? #general

אפרת גולדיטש

Hi everybody, the bomb fell on me in a family conversatiom with my
cousin - (>from the Hungary side) that knew very well my father. He
told me that my sister Rachel Schindler - born 1937 - that we were
sure she was murdered with her mother - Hana Hendel Schindler from
Korall Family in the streets of Krakov about 1942 - was not by her
mother and that my father searched for her for years with all kind of
special connection witout any luck.

Now it opens a wide spectrum of possibilities about what happened to her.
Maybe she was abandoned in the mess of a selection or stayed with her
grandparents, died before or maybe she was given to a farmer or some
nonjewish family or even to a monastery to take care after her till the
war will end.

Probabely she doesn't know if ske alive at all that her name is Rachel
Schindler and that she is a Jewish. She sopposed to be 76 by now and the
chances to find her are very low - but maybe a shot in the darkness - if
somebody knows anything about this family - SCHINDLER, KORRAL
please write to me privetly to my adress email - efrati345@gmail.com.
The last residence of Hana Hendel Korall Scindler was Barak Joselevich
18 Krakow.
Your help - any help - is very appreciated.

Re: Family Cook/Koch from Cincinatti/Kovno #lithuania

Ted Kotzin <tkotzin4713@...>

I'm hitting a wall in researching my father's mother's family, Cook
in America and Koch in Lithuania, probably Kaunus/Kovno. Isaac and
Miriam Koch (Grossman) came to the US about 1879 with children Sarah
(my grandmother), Jacob, and Abraham. They settled in Cincinnati,
later Covington KY (across the Ohio) and had a 4th child, Saul. They
used the name Cook in America, and Miriam became Mary. 1879 passenger
manifest shows name as Koski, which might be an error but could be
right.Isaac and Sarah appear in city directories.

I want to learn whether anyone has information on them in Lithuania.
Also Jacob and Abraham don't appear >from 1900 on, in which year Isaac
died in Cincinnati.

Do any of the people show up in your researches?

Hello.
I've posted a letter handwritten in German in need of a translation.
It is on ViewMate at the following address:
http://www.jewishgen.org/viewmate/viewmateview.asp?key=VM27155
I'm reposting this request. Someone wrote me and said the address was
missing before. I uploaded to viewmate some time ago, but just got
the message that it's ready.
It is hard to read as my great-grandfather wrote on the back and a
cousin wrote on the other side. Also his handwriting is hard to read,
and he wrote in pencil.
I wrote on Viewmate the particulars, people's names etc. to give
you context.
I uploaded some time ago, so I don't remember exactly what it is.
It is a personal letter.

Thank you very much. Lin Herz, Palm Bay, Florida
