Stanislawow, April 27, 1921 Where would I search for more information on my great-great-uncle Meier Weissberg with regard to his military service? Thanks in advance to all who will respond. Australian Ambassador in Poland launches facebook site with items of Jewish interest.
#general
Hi All
Jean Dunn, the Australian Ambassador to Poland, Lithuania and the Czech Republic has just launched the "Australia in Poland, Czech Republic and Lithuania" facebook page with several articles of Jewish interest. One of the first items featured is about a replica roof of the Gwodziec Synagogue installed at the new Museum of the History of Polish Jews in Warsaw to be partially opened on 19 April. This will be a temporary museum opening to mark the 70th anniversary of the ghetto uprising. The replica ceiling has been donated by an Australian, Irene Pletka, in memory of two proud Australian citizens, her mother and father, Lilka and Jacob (Kuba) Kronhill. They were both immigrant Polish Jews. See: http://www.jewishmuseum.org.pl/en/cms/news/2234,replica-roof-of-the-gwozdziec-synagogue-installed-at-the-museum-/ [or http://tinyurl.com/cvwer3x --Mod.] For those on facebook, the site's address is: http://www.facebook.com/AustraliaInPolandCzechRepublicandLithuania Best regards Eli Rabinowitz Perth, Australia
