Shalom -

Some time ago, it was reported on JewishGen that the
Austrian government was preparing a Bill that would allow
descendants of exiled Austrian Jews to apply for
citizenship. At last reading (maybe a year ago) it was still
ongoing. Does anyone have updated information on this
process?

Is there any English person on the forum who has gained dual
citizenship
with Austria as a descendant of a victim of Nazi
persecution.

Hello,
there was "Kleiner Ariernachweis" and "Grosser Ariernachweis".

"Kleiner Ariernachweis" means: proof of "Aryan" parents and
grandparents. Since 1933, members of the administration, teachers,
lawyer, students etc. had to prove their "Aryan" parents and
grandparents. Since 1935, this proof was necessary for every marriage
(Nuernberg laws).

"Grosser Ariernachweis" was necessary of those who wanted to join the
NSDAP and for farmers (Erbhofgesetz): proof of "Aryan" ancestry back to
those alive in the year 1800.

Those who wanted to join the SS had to prove back to those alive in 1750.

I don't think that these laws were applied outside Germany (but of
course in Austria, Sudetenland, Alsace-Lorraine).

"Kleiner Ariernachweis" (parents and grandparents) was very common
because it was needed very often.

If a "Grosser Ariernachweis" (back to 1800 or 1750) was issued one can
ask for what reason ...

Best regards

Tobias Kemper, <kemper@...>

Copy of naturalization file from Pierrefitte-sur-Seine #france

Hello-

According to the website of the French Natural Archives, they are not
accepting any *online* requests for documents held at Pierrefitte-sur-Seine
until November. If anyone is planning to go there before then, I'm wondering
if you could copy a naturalization file for me. I have all the necessary
details. Please respond privately if you would be able to do this.

Thank you very much.

Re: The civil marriage certificate of Leonardo Eliezer BOBROWSKI #france

Pierre HAHN

Bonjour Evelyne,

According to the information available on the site of the "Archives de
Paris", marriages will be available on the internet with a delay of 75
years. (see below for the french without accents)

Since the marriage you are researching is only 70 years ago you have
two choices - wait 5 years or go to the archives which are less than 10km from
Saint Maurice at Porte des Lilas, Paris 20.
