On a point of information: Two recent messages in the Digest
inadvertently gave the title of the Vilna GAON as GOAN -- a typographical
error. I take the liberty of pointing this out now, lest the incorrect
order of the vowels become imprinted on everybody's brain, thus

be a native of Goa!)

whether the "Russian Brotherhood" was an organization all over the US or
just in St. Paul. If it was national in scope, can someone point me to

guru who can make this happen is busy working on other JewishGen projects
and can only do one thing at a time. There is also another way to

to search the message archives to find something I knew had already been
