JewishGen Discussion Group #JewishGen RUDNICK/JACOBS #general

Patricia Kay <kay@...>

Dear Jewish-genners,
This message is a long-shot but perhaps the details will sound familiar to
someone.
I recently discovered that my maternal grandparents changed their name
from Rudnik to Levin (later Levine) when they first arrived in
Scotland around 1894.. Their names were Boruch Moses and Caley (or
Kate)Jacobs although I believe her father's name was Jacob Sochart. Their
eldest children Abraham and Rachel were probably born in Vilna.
Sometime around 1910, my late mother recalled that they were visited by an
aunt and her husband who had settled in Texas. This aunt brought gifts for
everyone -the 5 sisters were given baskets made >from Armadillo shells.
If this sounds familiar to any Rudnicks or Rudniks please reply
privately.
Thank you
Joyce Kay

JewishGen Discussion Group #JewishGen Finding PLOCIENKO family in France #general

Greenman50@...

I just connected with an "lost-aunt" who informed me that my mgrandfather,
Nathan Plocienko-Herman (>from Zambrow) had an older brother, Mottel Plocienko,
who lived in Paris. Mottel had a son Maurice Plocienko, who is married to a
woman named Mimi and they have a son Phillipe.

Mottel's sister Ida Kluger owned a dress shop somewhere in Paris. When my
aunt last heard (about 10 years ago) the shop had been sold by Ida's son
Claude Kluger and all of the younger generation were still alive. If anyone
in France knows anything about these cousins of mine I would love to know.

Please reply privately. Thank you.

My gg grandfather was a rabbi in new york. I'm not sure where. I do know that
he lived in the Bronx, NY and died in 1944.
Could someone tell me where/what publications I might find an obituary about

Thanks for any leads.
