I’m very pleased to report that Peter Absolon and his volunteers have finished transcribing all of the names of Jews and non-Jewish spouses and family members who were enumerated in the 1930 Czechoslovak census. In all, there are 138,296 names in the database, which you can search at https://www.jewishgen.org/databases/Hungary/   The records include links to the census pages from which they have been transcribed. Thanks to the donors who have contributed to this project, we were able to purchase missing images from the Slovak National Archives so those names are now included along with those transcribed from the records available at Slovakiana https://www.slovakiana.sk.

Go to https://www.jewishgen.org/databases/hungary/census1930.htm to learn more about this collection and go to https://www.jewishgen.org/databases/Hungary/ to search the records. If you have questions, contact Peter through the project website.

This is an example of the resources the Hungarian SIG is able to provide because of the generous support of Hungarian SIG donors and volunteers.
