Replying to messages and besieged with digests

It would probably cut down the number of meaningless (to most
subscribers) messages if people would start responding directly to a
person rather than the digest when the message is personal. A lot of
the conversations that are part of this new "plan" are really
meaningless to most readers. It is of course really difficult to
respond to a person when all that shows up is a person's name, no
email address and there is not an option that is easy to see which
allows for responding directly to a person rather than the group. Also
having messages with no discernible name of the author doesn't help if
you wanted to know who the person submitting the message is.

Keeping the discourse polite should also still be observed, which I
have noticed over the last several days is not always the case.
