ABOUT OUR PROGRAM
Digging Deep is for genealogists, history buffs, local heritage volunteers and others interested in exploring the past. You'll receive practical advice and learn the basic steps for gathering the information that you need to investigate and interpret any historical topic. This class will cover: what primary sources are - and aren't; what historical sources are - and how to use them; and how to (a) use the library system in your research, (b) use archival collections, (c) find and use reliable online resources, (d) properly cite your sources, and (e) use information from different sources. You'll also come away with knowledge and understanding of the rich resources of the Puget Sound Branch Archives, which are largely undiscovered by researchers as well as tips on how to efficiently search the Archives so you can use its resources to help you in your genealogical and historical research.
