I have found a cemetery record for Solomom MARKL, age 83, funeral
date 1894, in the Zentralfriedhol Cemetery.
This could be my husband's paternal ggf. Where would there be
records of any family members involved in funeral & burial
arrangements? My husband's grandfather, Selig MARKEL, was living in
Vienna in 1894.
The only additional information I received >from Ms Weiss at the
Vienna Jewish Archives was the cause of death, deceased's occupation
and the location of his death.
Beatrice,
Request a Totenfallsaufnahme >from the Vienna City Archives.
If you are lucky there will be such a form and it may yield a great
deal of information. In your request, give the birth date, date of
death, and last address in Vienna. The latter two bits of
information should be on the death record at the IKG so that Frau
Weiss can provide that. You can send your request via email. You
can write in English; they will answer in German. The contact
information for the City Archives is:
Wiener Stadt- und Landesarchiv, Magistratsabteilung 8
Address: Gasometer D, Guglgasse, Wien 11,
