Alan -
There are a number of contacts on this page: http://www.jewishgen.org/cemetery/w-europe/austria.html Moedling (has an unlaut) is listed under Viennese cemeteries on this page: http://www.ikg-wien.at/static/etis/unter/html/re_index.htm Please have him report back what he finds to us cemetery project volunteers, if he could fill out this form it would be most helpful to future researchers http://www.jewishgen.org/cemetery/instructions/neesurvey.html Kitty Cooper Albuquerque NM (USA) IAJGS cemetery volunteer family page http://kittymunson.com/Thannhauser/index.html |

My brother-in-law will be visiting the cemetery at Modling bei Wien, once a
small town near Vienna, but now, we suspect, simply a suburb of Vienna. Thanks to Celia Male's assistance, we have located the graves of his and my wife's great-grandparents via the cemetery records, and he wishes to visit the graves. I would appreciate it if anyone knows whether the cemetery is locked, and if so, how does one obtain permission to enter? Is there a contact organization or person in Vienna, as in several German cities, for former residents, for example, to assist them during their visit, who could help with this? Thanks Alan Kolnik Bethesda, MD |
