Dear All,
Following Yad Vashem's publication of their database of Holocaust victims, I have discovered I had cousins who were deported >from Antwerp, Belgium, during the Nazi occupation. Is there a publication or database, similar to Serge Klarsfeld's work for France, covering deportations >from occupied Belgium? Many thanks, Saul Marks Liverpool, England |

I have looked at the Klarsfeld book in the New York Public Library,
but wonder if anyone knows where to purchase it? Sandra Bennett Merrick, New York |

I have looked at the Klarsfeld book in the New York Public Library,There is at least one copy of "Memorial de la Deportation des Juifs de Belgique" by Serge Klarsfeld and Maxime Steinberg available through one of the major second hand book seller marketplaces on the internet. [Moderator note: The URLs for those sites removed by Moderator as required by JewishGen Privacy policy.] The copy I found is being sold by an Israeli vendor. Rodney Eisfelder Melbourne, Australia |

He will tell you about the English version. This being told, Serge Klarsfeld is preparing (for two years) a new edition of that book, and will publish it next year (maybe at the end of next year, maybe sooner, I don't know since it was planned already for last year). It's a very long work and the author has so many things to do, places to go, commemorations, etc. The new edition will include new details : the last known address of each deportee, the spouses' maiden name, maybe the occupations. And of course it will contain a great lot of corrections (errors, mispellings, etc.). Since such a book is rather expensive, it may be a good thing to wait for the new edition and to continue to look at it in the libraries in the meantime. -- Eve Line Blum-Cherchevsky Besancon (France) and also Cercle de Genealogie Juive (International JGS in Paris) http://www.genealoj.org |

hadn't read correctly the subject of the message, and I confused two "Klarsfeld's books", two "Klarsfeld memorial". Sandra meant the "Memorial to the Jews Deported >from Belgium 1942-44" and my answer concerned the "Memorial to the Jews deported >from France 1942-1944". I'm sorry for that error.
