Re the Sambor cemetery tragedy that Alex Sharon just brought to our
attention: Friday morning I wrote to the U.S. Commission for the
Preservation of America's Heritage Abroad and received a reply
immediately. It seems that officials of the U.S. government are
aware of the problem and have been using quiet diplomacy to resolve
the dispute. This is encouraging news.
