Fw: Searching for Swarcz in Szeged #hungary

The last address I have for the Jewish Community Office is: Gutenberg
utca XXXXXXXXXX

The Great Synagogue is not to be missed. On the wall in the foyer are the
list of those who perished in the Holocaust. I can't remember the hours
during which it's open but the man collecting the entry fee, Tamas, is
quite
knowledgeable and speaks english.

As well, just around the corner, in the community centre, there is
congregate dining and a kosher lunchroom available to the elderly
remnants
of the once 5000 strong Jewish population of Szeged. if you speak
hungarian,
I'm sure you can gain some valuable in formation.
Contact info for Jewish communities is also on the Hungarian webpage
referred to earlier by Gabor Hirsch.

Please contact me off line if you need more info.

I'm searching for the family of Max SCHWARZ, born about 1850
Nagykanizsa,
and living in Szeged in 1913. His location is based on Max SCHWARZ
noted
as
a surviving brother in the Vienna death record of his brother Leopold.
Is there a Jewish Community Office in Szeged that I could contact
regardin

I don't know if the question is still actuell, anyway, since some month, the earlier good working Mazsihisz.com is not so informativ as it was, neither the forum nor some information can be reached. Through an enquiry I got the homepage of the Jewish community of Szeged and I hope you can get the information you are looking for it is available in Hungarian as well as in English.

Best regards
Gabor Hirsch
