spelling jibou.) otherwise, it looks like an abbreviation, since "sz" is the usual abbreviation of saint, possibly "szent ibolya". except that, among all the other saints, i couldn't find an ibolya (popular feminine name meaning violet). ....... tom klein, toronto

Perhaps it is Zsibo? Zsibo is in the former Szilagy County, now in Romania.
