Enumeration Districts #general

My question is simple, maybe the answer is not:

Do Enumeration Districts change >from census to census? Please post to
the group, as I'm sure others have the same question.

Perfect timing. I was doing research at the NYPL yesterday and needed to
obtain census records. Yes, the ADs and EDs change with each census--as
indicated on each NY census.

Yes Ricki they absolutely do. They did in the 1900 - 1910 -- 1920 New York
Census. I just researched that area a few weeks ago. And had to come up with
different districts.

I helped with the with the local mid-term census in Maricopa County Arizona in
1995 and there is a method for handling it even now. Occasionally E.D. get too
populous and they have to be split. So the numbers will keep changing for years
to come.
