State censuses; when and where? #general

MarkGrekin <markgrekin@...>

In addition to Federal USA censuses (1890, 1900, 1910, etc.)
it is my understanding that some states did their own censuses between Federal
ones.
For example, New Jersey had their own censuses in years 1895,1905, etc.
Does anyone knows what states did their own censuses and in what years?
Maybe there is a table showing that information. It will be very helpful to a
lot of us, jewishgenners.

To Mark & all Jewishgenners:

I would like to refer you to "State Census Records" by Ann S. Lainhart,
c1992, published by Genealogical Publishing Co. It lists all states A-Z
with pertinent information.
New Jersey took the following state census: 1855; 1865; 1875; 1885,
1895; 1905; 1915. These may be ordered through any FHC library for
viewing there.
