NY City Directory Help #general

Scott Noar <sman@...>

Hi,
I need a quick look up in the NY City directory.

I am trying to narrow down the year that Solomon Noar died in NYC.
I know that in the 1910 census and city dircectory he was living at 246
E 80th St in NYC. He is not in the 1920 census.

I want to narrow that year down so I can get his death certificate.
Could someone look him up in the directories between 1911-1920 to see
what year he disappears?

Please contact me privately,
Thanks

My limited experience (two places) - there appears to be a gap
in NYC City directories >from 1914-32. Let us know if you find

The only gap I'm aware of in the NY City Directories is around
1929-1930-1931 (due to the Stock Market crash, perhaps?). I have
done research in every other directory >from 1906 - 1920, and
1925. I used the microfilms available through the Mormon FHS's
and the Los Angeles Central Library (and probably in other major
libraries as well).
For the period Scott is researching, the 1915 and 1917-18
editions are particularly useful because they can provide
information to research the 1915 NY State Census and the WWI
Draft Registration cards.
BTW, the directories were issued mid-year, so each edition.spans
two calendar years.
