Happy Pesach to all Krakow Researchers,
Here's a little gift >from all the Krakow Shtetl CO-OP Initiative, Jewish
Records Indexing-Poland volunteers.

All 737,111 Krakow records on the Mormon films have now been indexed and
are available to be searched at http://www.jewishgen.org/JRI-PL/

Many thanks to Dan Hirschberg, Julian Schamroth and Steve Schamroth for
their help in creating indexes, and for extended records.

Recently, it was announced that -all- Krakow records that are on the Mormon
films have been indexed and are available on-line. This is an amazing
resource! I found out, only recently, that I have ancestors who were in
Krakow. Working between the indexes and the microfilms in Salt Lake City,
research is now incredibly quick and easy. The records are still in Polish
-- early ones in paragraph form, later ones in column form -- but
deciphering is very straightforward with a bit of education. And, if you
can make it to Salt Lake City for the July conference, there will be no
dearth of education in Polish records. I hope the Krakow Shtetl CO-OP
heroes will be there so we can all thank them!
