Seeking: Hebrew Congregation, Lafayette Indiana - records #general

Kerin K. Shellenbarger <KKShellenbarger@...>

I am seeking the records of Hebrew Congregation in Lafayette, Indiana,
or any information of its history during the 1880s or if it was absorbed
by another. I am researching the Crailsheimer family who lived in
Lafayette >from the mid 1860s to mid 1880s. A wedding took place in 1882
by Rabbi Freudenthal of Hebrew Congregation for Henrietta Crailsheimer,
and I am looking for any further information such as membership, birth
or death records that might have been kept by the synagogue that might
provide additional information about the family.

Thank you,
Kerin Shellenbarger

The American Jewish Archives, 3101 Clifton Avenue, Cincinnati Ohio 43220 is
a good place to search. For many years there there was an Indiana Jewish
Historical Society in Ft. Wayne. Perhaps it is still there. At any rate,
the Archives would have that information.
Sincerely,
