Accessing EIDB Manifest Image #general

Bud484BG@...

I've been successfully using the EIDB online in searching the Manifests and
have just come up with a new problem for a specific ship manifest:

Upon clicking the Original Ship Manifest link,on thepage where the thumbnail
(small) image of the original handwritten or typed manifest usually appears
there is a black image with the words "ship manifest image" in yellow.
Clicking this, brings up a blank page with no image!

I tried accessing other passenger search records today where the thumbnail
image did appear.

Anyone out there have a similar experience??

Thanks.

I think everyone has had this experience and I would suggest barring
A trip to the archives to view the manifest that you check Steve Morse's
One - Step Website to the EIDB for missing manifests at

http://www.stevemorse.org

Hope this helps

Beatrice -

If you go to www.stevemorse.org there are instructions
there for locating the missing image. Click on the link for
missing manifests. Sometimes the images are not missing,
but they are not linked properly. This page will tell you how
to find them.

Good luck,
Lisa

Once again, I would like to thank all who responded to my posted question on
the Ellis Island DB passenger manifest image. Of course, the majority of you
referred me to our maven Steve Morse Missing Manifests page, which I was
already familiar with but my question had to do with the appearance of the wording
*Ship Manifest Image* on the black background -in place of the thumbnail
manifest itself. I had not seen this before.

At any rate, I went through the Missing Manifest process and came up with the
answer: The manifest for the ship and date I am searching has not been
scanned and so it's back to NARA or the FHC for the microfilm.

Again, I would like to thank all of you.
