Ballin was ordered by the Gestapo Nuernberg-Fuerth to compile a record of
events in the community covering the years 1933-1943.
The "Ballin chronicles" are the only known existing records of the
"Isrealitische Kultusgemeinde Fuerth" of that era. In 1943 Miss Grete Ballin
perished in the Holocaust.

Would be you or perhaps other Genners explain differences between:
"ordinary mixed marriages", "privileged mixed marriages" and
"Geltungsjuden".

I understand those are classifications established by the racist Nuremberg
laws. But I am confused as to the meaning.

My ancestors are >from the neighbouring Wallerstein.

Rabbi David Weiskopf (1798-1882) is buried in the cemetery. The grave is still
standing.

Rabbi Mordechai Kohn (1823-1888) who was the son-in-law of Rabbi Weiskopf is
buried alongside.

His daughter, Chajo, is my greatgrandmother.
