Would anyone know the exact location of the town of Khabno (or Chabno)? It
is now the present town of Poleznoe, which I think is located in, or around,
the city of Kiev which is in the Ukraine. I've also been wondering why Khabno
was spelled "Chabno"?

There is a detailed discussion of this at

The Wikipedia entry in Polish spells it Chabno. I believe that that part of the
Ukraine used to be part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. So it would seem that that
is the Polish spelling. Of course, Ukranian is written is in Cyrillic, so that
Khabno would be a transliteration.
