Good afternoon,

My name is Jack Haines and I am searching for any information leading
to the final resting places of my great-great-grandfather, Herman HIRSCH,
and one of his daughters, my great-grandmother: Florina (or Florence)
HIRSCH. And I was wondering perhaps if we are related. The HIRSCH family
immigrated to Brooklyn, NY, in 1882.

In the family were Herman and his wife, Marie (or, by her European name: Mirjam),
and five of their seven children: Jacob, Bertha, Emma, Florina, and
Thekla. The missing other two children were Edward and his sister Eva
(who could be Bertha). Michel may be Mirjam's maiden name, according
to a document of marriage between one of her daughters, Emma HIRSCH,
and Harry ROSEMANN.

Herman Hirsch was born in Germany in March 1837. He was a tobacconist.
His second wife, Mirianna Hirsch (nee Strauss), was born in Luxembourg in
March 1835. She immigrated to the States before Herman did.

Herman's brother and sister, according to Herman's last will and
testament, were Lugwig HIRSCH (of St. Goarshausen, Germany) and Louise
MAYER (of Oberwesel, Rhein, Germany).

Mirianna died on April 3, 1913; while Herman died in Montreal on March
29, 1919. It has been confirmed that he was not buried in Montreal,
but that his body was shipped to Brooklyn for burial.

Florence, too, was in Montreal, when she married. It is believed that
she died in Brooklyn in her early 30s. There is no record of her
death or burial in Montreal.

Here are Herman's children and whom they married:
Jacob HIRSCH married Emilia (or Amelia) TANGER.
Emma HIRSCH married Harry ROSEMAN.
Florina HIRSCH married Benjamin MAYERS.
Thekla HIRSCH married Andrew PINAUD.
Edward HIRSCH married Henny (or Hennie) HERTZ (or HERTA).
Eva HIRSCH married Alfred E. EMBLEM.

There is no record of Bertha HIRSCH, so I'm presuming that she might
have been Eva.
