Nachum Tuchman asked the following question:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "I was wondering if anyone can translate the Polish word 'nieustalona'. This word appears in the JRI-Poland Warsaw ghetto deaths as the cause of death of who probably was my great grandmother, Sura Ita LIBERMAN." The JRI-Poland Warsaw Ghetto Death Card webpage contains a link to download an excel file containing translations for the causes of death listed in the Warsaw Ghetto Death Cards. This list was created by a volunteer, Dr. Kris Murawski. The word 'nieustalona' means undetermined. Hadassah Lipsius Kew Gardens Hills, NY
Dear List,
I have received the translation to the Polish word 'nieustalona'. It means undetermined. Hadassah Lipsius pointed out that there is a link >from the site to a list of translations of causes of death used in the data base. Hopefully this will be useful for others searching the Warsaw ghetto death index. I have thanked everyone who helped already, but let me do so again publicly. I've posted two records, in Polish, for which I need loose translations.
1866 record for Lajzer Sochaczewski. If possible please provide a more complete date, and his age. I believe the names of his parents and the city of Lodz is also included. It is on ViewMate at the following address: http://www.jewishgen.org/viewmate/viewmateview.asp?key=VM28984 1848 record for Tauba Bayla Sochacaczewski Parents may be Wolek & Gitla; the city was Aleksandrów. Please provide whatever you are able; this is a poor copy of the record. It is on ViewMate at the following address: http://www.jewishgen.org/viewmate/viewmateview.asp?key=VM28983 Please respond via the form provided in the ViewMate application. Thank you very much, Martha Laufer McDonald marthamcdonald@...
