Kremenets, Updated Surname List, 24 Jan 2001 #poland
Ronald D. Doctor <rondoctor@...>
I'm pleased to announce that the next update of the Kremenets, Ukraine
now is available on the Kremenets Shtetl CO-OP section of the Jewish
Resources Indexing - Poland (JRI-Poland) website. Point your browser to:
The updated list now includes 1,047 surnames >from the vital records and
Yizkor Books. The vital records entries include all birth records for 1870
and death records for 1870 through 1872.
We still NEED MORE VOLUNTEERS who are able to TRANSLATE RUSSIAN, YIDDISH,
and/or HEBREW. The more volunteers we have the sooner we can get these
records on-line. Please contact me if you have any of these language skills
and have not yet been given a translation assignment.
Those who have donated time and/or money to the project received pre-release
copies of the posted Surname List. This is one of the ways we can reward
those who help the project move forward. So, if you can help with
translations, I'd be happy to add you to the distribution list for
pre-release copies of the information we post on-line. And, if you can't do
translation work yourself, you still can join this PREMIERE group by making
a financial (and tax-deductible) contribution to the project. Contributions
will be used for copying expenses and to hire professional translators to
supplement our volunteers.
You can contribute to either the Yizkor Book part of the Project or the
JRI-Poland Vital Records part ... or BOTH. For Yizkor Book Project donations
point your browser to:
You can make your donation electronically with a credit card, or you can
download a printable form for making your payment by mail. To be sure your
donation goes to our Kremenets project, scroll down the list and check the
box next to Kremenets, Ukraine.
Instructions for contributing to the JRI-Poland part of our project are at
http://www.jewishgen.org/jri-pl/kremenet.htm Be sure to specify that your
contribution is for the Kremenets SHTETL CO-OP.

who have visited the website before, please note the change of address.
If you locate ancestors on the list, please let me know about it. I'm
keeping a log of "successes". And, as usual, if you have any questions,
please be sure to contact me. I'm looking forward to hearing >from you.
