IAJGS Lifetime Achievement Award #lithuania

I am very happy to let you know that Judy Baston won this year's IAJGS
Lifetime Achievement Award. The award was announced and bestowed at the
Banquet in Jerusalem on Thursday evening, July 9.

Judy is very involved in numerous genealogy organizations besides LitvakSIG.
The inscription on the award reads: "In recognition of Judy's tireless work
as: a LitvakSIG board member; moderator of the LitvakSIG Discussion Group;
membership of the JRI-Poland Board; Lomza Archive Coordinator; and moderator
of the Lodz Area Research Group and BialyGen discussion groups. Judy was
also involved in editing/proofreading Yizkor Book translations for
Ciechanowiec, Eisiskes and Ostrow Mazowiecka, and is a sought after
speaker."

Judy is also District Coordinator of the Lida and Oshmiany District Research
Groups of LitvakSIG and the moderator of the JRI-Poland discussion Group. I
probably missed something, so I apologize in advance.

In her "spare" time back home in California, Judy is very involved with the
Jewish Community Library of San Francisco where she volunteers and helps
conduct monthly genealogy workshops.

I am very proud to call Judy my friend and to say Mazel Tov!
