[NL] SSDI Listings are Unstable #ukraine

In reading your post about having problems with SSDI on rootsweb and
ancestry, which are tied to one another, I posted your question to another
rootsweb list and received this reply. Hope it helps.

Re: posting once and finding records, and not finding them the second time...
<< This could mean one of two things.

1) The person doing the search entered the search criteria a bit
differently this time than he did the first time around. If that is the
case, the record it still there but the person searching isn't finding it
due to typing in information that doesn't agree *exactly* with what he
searched for before.
OR...

2) A correction was made to the entry in a subsequent monthly update put
out by the SSA and that change or removal of the entry is resulting in it
no longer being found in a search.

I would beg to differ with that person since I used only the last name
each time along with the British Isles. That is all I ever use since I
have found that things come up on that that will not come up when you do a
more detailed search. The times this has happened I was up really late,
but got knocked off the net either by noise on the line or by missing the
prompt to keep me on. I went back on and redid the search exactly the
same way and the same color changes were there >from my previous look at
the records shortly before, but a couple of the people were now missing
that I knew had been there. I am talking just an hour or so before and
late at nite.

Since this has happened to me about three times, I would say that the
problem is recurring, but have no idea what it is other than the search
engine missing some.

I have even done a detailed search for something I know is there, and it
will not come up until you do a more general search with less criteria.
