Our family has as one of its given names, "Tzala" that was passed through the generations, it was my maternal grandfather's great grandfather's name, and two of his male descendants.
I was puzzled when I learned that my great-uncle Charlie's Hebrew name was Betzalel, until the linkage was explained to me. In Lithuania, he was called by the diminutive nickname "Tzali", and Charlie was how Tzali was Anglicized.
