In that area of Galicia, Srulik was a diminutive or nickname for Israel.
Srul was another form used.

My ancestor Srulik Schechter lived in Rohatyn, Galitzia in the 1800´s.
I have been unable to find any trace of him in the JRI Poland database.
Which other given names are compatible with Srulik and could lead me
to finding him in the archives?
